Privacy Requests

Choose one of the options listed below to receive your personal information that is under the control of the Office of the Veterans Ombudsman.

Option 1:

  • Send a dated and signed letter stating that you are seeking your records under the Privacy Act.

  • Provide enough detail to enable us to locate your records.

Option 2:

General information about Privacy requests:

  • There is no fee for a Privacy request.

  • The Office has 30 calendar days to respond to a Privacy request. However, the Act does allow for extensions beyond the 30 calendar days, and you will be notified in writing of any extension.

  • Mail your completed letter or form to the address below.

  • Refer to the list of Access to Information and Privacy Coordinators to request information held by other government institutions.
